Equation

Heat capacity is defined by the following equation:

C = \frac{Q}{Δ T}

Where:

$C$	is the object's heat capacity (J/K);
$Q$	is heat energy of the object (J);
$Δ T$	is change in the object's temperature (K);

Rearranging this equation into a more typically useful form we have the heat transfer rate for a given mass flowrate:

˙ Q = ˙ m c_{p} Δ T

Where:

$˙ Q$	is the rate of heat energy transferred in the fluid (J/s or W);
$˙ m$	is the mass flowrate of the fluid (kg/s);
$c_{p}$	is the specific heat capacity of the fluid (J/kg.K);
$Δ T$	is the change in the fluid's temperature (K);
